We’re featured on Grey Likes Weddings today with Jasmine Star!
I was honored to be invited to be a part of photographer Jasmine Star‘s latest CreativeLive workshop on shooting an editorial. We worked together in the months leading up to April’s shoot – I designed a set for Jasmine to use in her class where she could show her students how a live editorial shoot works and what shots and techniques are important. Jasmine’s final images were chosen to be featured today on the Grey Likes Weddings blog! Yay! More images are on Jasmine’s site today as well, and I’ll share more in the future including inspiration sketches and design details. Click below to view Summer’s full post on Grey Likes Weddings.
Jennifer & Jerry’s Wedding | Design Details | Vintage Glam Ceremony Altar

Coordinating all of the elements that came together to create Jennifer & Jerry’s Ceremony was so much fun. We found a gorgeous and impressive vintage corner cupboard through Becky at Vintage Ambiance, who also sourced the beautiful sparkly chandelier that was hung overhead. Here was our initial sketch that we presented to Jennifer:

We ended up being able to center the alter between two of the large windows on a brick wall, rather than in the corner of the room, which is the most common placement at The Palace Ballroom. We chose a sheer fabric backdrop from Rented Elegance, so that the early evening light was able to filter in from Lenora Street. Glassybaby votives in an array of pink and gold shades lined the shelves along with floral arrangements by Finch and Thistle. We selected chiavari chairs from Pedersen’s with a dark walnut finish to compliment the deep tones of the venue and to ground our light and airy design. The design was dual purpose, after the the room was transformed for the Reception, the cake display was centered under the chandelier.

Sugarcomb Wedding | Galen & Jeff by Sarah Rhoads Photographers

Galen and Jeff are sweet and stylish. In my consultation with the East Coast couple, the bride and I discovered that we grew up just a neighborhood apart and attended the same high school. The pair returned to their hometown of Seattle to share their wedding with family and friends in venues that are as beautiful as they are nostalgic for the couple. Galen and Jeff married on a gorgeous August day at St. Joseph, one of my favorite churches. They created a wedding as sophisticated as it was organic, with vintage inspired colors, florals and decor. Their reception took place at The Seattle Tennis Club on glistening Lake Washington…

Wedding Sugar Palette #1102 | Orange & Ocean
Orange and a rich grey-blue are two of my favorite colors. They come together in this palette as a fresh and summertime spread; orange slices, sparkle and a balance of bright and mild tones complete this sunny and warm reception.
Featured Find | Sweet Customized Cake Banners
I came across these adorable cake toppers and was excited to share them here! Interesting and unexpected dessert decor can be far and few between, but these ones by Ready Go Paper Studio have the perfect amount of style, color, whimsy and artistic flair.
Wedding Sugar Palette # 1101 | Pattern & Flow

There is a lot of contrast in this inspiration board that all blends well together. The soft flowy fabric and the structured pattern in the vases and furniture. The delicate pink and the strong blue. All so different but they can tell a beauty story when put together, well balanced and full of love.
