Jennifer and Jerry were married in August at The Palace Ballroom in Downtown Seattle. The couple owns Guardian Cellars in Woodinville and they wanted to enjoy a fun evening with their friends and family, centered around delectable Tom Douglas cuisine and delicious wines. Jennifer asked Sugarcomb to design their “Vintage Glam” inspired celebration and we excitedly jumped on board. She had a gorgeous Luly Yang gown that we used as the guiding light for their design to follow. To set the scene for the ceremony I sourced a towering vintage corner cupboard from Vintage Ambiance, which was filled with lush colorful flowers and Glassybaby votives, framed by a sheer vanilla fabric backdrop. Overhead hung a dazzling vintage crystal chandelier. I created their escort card display by hand-painting Jennifer and Jerry’s J&J motif, created by Cheree Berry Paper, onto an oak wine barrel from their winery. It later doubled as a backdrop in their wine bottle favor display. The tables were topped with champagne pink linens, colorful votives, menu’s by Hum Creative and punch-bowl florals from Finch and Thistle. The evening was so full of love and cheerful guests who danced, laughed and posed the night away in their 321 Foto booth.
Aside from Jennifer’s work at the winery, she doubles as a reporter for The Seattle Times. That is where she first met their wedding photographer, Barbara Kinney, years ago. Barbara is a Seattle local; her beyond impressive career is most recognised in the wedding industry for photographing Chelsea Clinton’s wedding last year. Enjoy, I’ll follow up with future posts on design details!

Spring 2011 Fashion Week starts today! Yesterday Sachin + Babi released photos of their line; I came across a look that would be great inspiration for an alternative bridesmaid dress. I love the sparkle, the idea of a belted two-tone ensemble and the muted romantic colors…
Here are a few coordinating accessories to complete the picture…

I came across these necklaces by White Owl, they are so delicate and nostalgic; I love the lighthearted feeling. They are made using new and re-purposed materials, the owner describes herself as a lover of art, flea markets and great style.
Here is more inspiration on the same light & airy note…

I stumbled across, and fell in love with, these darling clutches by Davie & Chiyo. A brand created in Vancouver by two sisters in 2009. They are detailed with luxurious fabrics, bits of shabby chic and modern lines. If one of these (or any of the others in their etsy shop) aren’t exactly what you need, they take customized orders! What a sweet gift for your bridesmaid’s and a perfect evening-out clutch. They start at $55 and offer a discount for bridal orders of 3 purses and more.
