Wedding Details | Letterpress Invitations Designed by the Groom

Jess & Tom’s Whidbey Island wedding was featured in a post on Tuesday. They had many hand-made elements in their wedding, one of which was their invitations that were designed by the groom. I love their motif, it represents them meeting on a flight home from Paris, as well as Seattle, the place they call home.

Wedding Design Inspiration | #1201 Understated Autumn

Bare fall branches are the central theme in this subtly toned wedding design. Bridesmaids look sophisticated in black dresses with a classic neckline. The bride’s teal silk heels add a touch of whimsy to her lace and silk gown. Artistic dinnerware and jewelry complete the feeling of this understated autumn inspired collection.

Sugarcomb Wedding | Jess & Tom by Sean Flanigan Photography
Jess and Tom were married last July at the Whidbey Institute at Chinook. It’s a beautiful property on Whidbey Island with lush gardens, fields, rustic cabins and the occasional “Snow White moment” where a bunny and a couple of curious birds may meander past you. It’s truely a magical ambiance, the perfect setting for such a sweet couple…

Hello, Sugarcomb! The wedding planning studio is open.
A dream that has been in the back of my mind for years now came to fruition this summer when I opened Sugarcomb’s headquarters in Magnolia village. Designing the space was such a fun experience. The studio was a well-loved blank canvas when I received the keys; plans began this spring and I opened the Dutch door for business this June.
The studio is very close to my heart for a couple of reasons. I grew up in the area and spent a few high school and college years working in the exact same location, back when it was owned by an interior designer. That first job of mine was so inspiring and it greatly steered me along my design path. Bringing my own business to the studio has truly been a heartwarming full-circle experience for me.
Sugarcomb had been home-based since its start in 2008 and it’s a pleasure to be able to invite couples in to work on their plans where I have everything I need at my fingertips. The talented Julie Harmsen came by recently to shoot the studio and I’m thrilled to share her images with you…

The studio is open by appointment only, please contact us to schedule your consultation or visit.

Featured in Seattle Met Bride & Groom | Private Party
The new Summer/Fall issue of Seattle Met Bride & Groom came out in the beginning of July! We’re delighted to have done prop styling for their Private Party fashion shoot in the issue. Photographed by Alvin Nguyen, and edited/styled by Editor In-Chief Laura Cassidy, I had help from a talented group of vendors (Mum Floral Design, Ruth-Ann Ford Cakes & Confections, Capitello Wines) to set the scene…

Lauren & Alex’s Engagement Photos by Kristen Marie Photography

Lauren and Alex are one heck of a brilliant, kind hearted and adorable pair and I adored every minute of working with them on their wedding. Sugarcomb worked with Kristen Marie Photography a couple of weeks ago at Lauren and Alex’s wedding on San Juan Island. Before we get to those big day shots, here is a sweet sampling of their engagement shoot from a very sunny day in Seattle this spring. Lauren’s hair and makeup was styled by Jenny Bowker.
